it with my Huffy (a back way to my childhood home), but I would always end up walking the rest, about half way up. If I wanted to ride with him, I had to press on, I had to keep going.

In about mid-summer I had found that my biking became much better than the average. I continued on biking with my friend and now could keep up with him. We biked further and further, sometimes up to 50 miles in one day. My average speed when I started was 14 miles per hour, by August I was up to 24 miles per hour, I was fast and like my friend, we would leave others behind us. Eventually the youth group that I attended had a long bike ride up to Mackinaw City and back, to me it was a peice of cake, even some of the large rolling hills in the back country of Harbor Springs, Michigan. I hadn’t realized how good I became and how much strength I had gained by my junior year in high school.

Starting school I was in gym class and we would be given the opportunity to spend some time in the weight room. There using a to keep up with him by the end of the summer, perhaps even being able to surpass him, if I had been given the chance to see how long I could bike. Now eventually I bought a car and the bicycle became a relic, my strength eventually let out over years.

If you want to win a race, you have to actually get involved. How does one Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.” Hebrews 11

Run the race, run it with all of your heart and soul. Do what is right, follow Christ wholeheartedly. Do His work, do His bidding, do all to stand. Though this life is not the easiest, in comparison to eternity, it is not even a blink of the eye. Understand that this is serious business and there is a lost world out there who needs to know the Gospel.

“For the love of Christ constraineth us;
