How Christians ought to behave?
There are literally tons of verses discussing how Christians are to behave throughout the old and New Testament. For next week we will be breaking down the difference between holy and righteous and bible verses relating to those two things. So if you didn’t just start jotting down your homework right then you should now. Might as well add on a book summary review while we are at it.
Christians are to live a life as pure as you can.
“because it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.” 1st Peter 1:26
Let’s go ahead and take a step by defining holy right now:
Holy is being set apart, separate from the world. Now we are also to put on the armor of God.
“Put on all the armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11
God has established guidelines how Christians should behave in Church, in their marriages, raising their children and numerous other things. Christians are supposed to keep their hands clean of sin and not allow the fleshly lust to control them.
“that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh in the lusts of men, but in the will of God.” 1st Peter 4:2
“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1st John 2:1
For awhile it was a fad to wear WWJD on t-shirts, bracelets and other items. What does the Most High truly expect of us:
“And the fringe shall be, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of Jehovah and do them, and that you not seek after that for which your own heart and eyes go whoring,” Numbers 15:39
“You shall walk after Jehovah your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and cleave unto Him.” Deuteronomy 13:4
“But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the Law which Moses the servant of Jehovah has charged you, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to cleave unto Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Joshua 22:5
“Cast away from you all the transgressions by which you have transgressed, and prepare for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?
For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, declares the Lord Jehovah. Therefore turn and live!” Ezekiel 18:31-31
I will end with this verse from the Holy Scriptures that is very relevant to our everyday lives:
“keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Judas 1:21
