Why the Flood?
“Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were pleasing; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not continually strive with man, for indeed it is in flesh to sin; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years. There were giants on the earth in those days. And also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them, these were the mighty men from antiquity, men of renown. And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all day long. And Jehovah regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart. And Jehovah said, I will obliterate man whom I have created from off the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and flying creatures of the heavens, for I regret having made them.” Genesis 6:1-7
Men had chose sin over doing what is right before Jehovah. Not only that but the sons of God had also produced mixed seed. In that sense, man was not only sinful and corrupt in their hearts, but their very DNA was also corrupt. All that was on these men’s mind was evil all day long.
The Flood was God’s judgment upon the earth, upon mankind for their sins. God will once again Judge the earth…are you ready?
