The Broad Path

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.  Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many entering in through it.  Because narrow is the gate and distressing is the way which leads unto life, and there are few who find it.”  Matthew 7:12-14   Everywhere people set goals for themselves.  Many of those goals are focused on finances.  There are goals to pay for college, goals to own transportation, goals to buy a house, goals to save for retirement.  Lives are planned based upon certain interpretations of how to achieve these goals.  Yet for many a goal of becoming rich is upon their hearts.   All around this nation financial bubbles are exploding in growth.  The amount of student loan debt acquired by those who are studying for a career to obtain such goals has hit a record amount.  Auto loans have exploded reaching, new highs in indebtedness of our American society.  Home buying in many places has created bubbles of unsustainable pricing and debt that is piling up in a manner that is neither sustainable or realistic.  The stock market is increasing often by three digit figures per day, far surpassing common sense and then there is Bitcoin.   Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are exploding in value as hand joins to hand across this once great nation, with those who are investing hoping for a landslide of profits to materialize in front of them.  The false security in these bubbles...

Psalms Walk-Thru #009

“My Mighty God, My Mighty God, why have You forsaken Me, and are far from My deliverance, and from the words of My groaning?  O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the nighttime, and am not silent.  But You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.  Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered them.  They cried to You, and were delivered; they trusted in You, and were not ashamed.  But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.  All who see Me mock Me; they shoot out the lip; they shake the head, saying,  He trusted on Jehovah; let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him!  For You are He who took Me out of the womb, causing Me to trust while on My mother’s breasts.  I was cast upon You from the womb; You are My Mighty God from My mother’s belly.  Be not far from Me, for trouble is near; for there is no one to help.  Many bulls have encircled Me; strong bulls of Bashan have surrounded Me.  They have gaped at Me with their mouths, like a tearing and roaring lion.  I am poured out like water, and all My bones are separated; My heart is like wax, it has melted within Me.  My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue clings to My jaws; and You have brought Me into the dust of death.  For dogs have surrounded Me; the congregation of the wicked have enclosed...

#NotYou

“Do I delight with pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Jehovah, and not that he should turn back from his ways and live?”  Ezekiel 18:23   “Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall live life because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul.”  Ezekiel 3:21   A harsh title to start off an article with, but perhaps it could be something like #CastIntoLakeOfFire or #NotFoundWrittenInBookOfLife.  These would be the harshest words, as each man will stand before their Creator and if their name is not written in the Book of Life, they will be cast into the Lake of Fire and tormented day and night forever and ever.  So to those of you who can take a minute, for those of you who are willing to contemplate for a moment, what God’s Word declares about sin and about Salvation, then might as well do that now, before you stand before Him at the Great White Throne Judgment.    “And the devil, who led them astray, was cast into the Lake of Fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.  And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away. And there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life....

Psalms Walk-Thru #008

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of Jehovah our God.”  Psalms 20:7   From time to time and place to place, troubling times appear on the horizon, sometimes those trouble actually surface to real problems.  For some it could be war, for others it could be an economic collapse, other times it could simply be a small town that just lost the factory that was the lifeline.  When these sorts of things happen, a lot of people relocate, some out of necessity, others forced to do so.  For the Believer, one who has truly repented and believed in Jesus Christ as their Savior, we remember God, we know that He cares about us.   “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares about you.”  1st Peter 5:6-7   “Save, O Jehovah! Let the King answer us when we call.”  Psalms 20:9   We must always remember that as Christians, certainly our lives are in Christ (Col. 3:3) and we have hope in Him (Rom. 15:3).  While God ultimately has His purposes regarding our lives, we certainly have access to the Father, through Jesus Christ.   “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to...

Alarm Bells

“The burden against the Valley of Vision. What ails you now, that you have gone up to the housetops?  The noisy city, the joyous city, is filled with turbulence. Your slain ones are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.  All your rulers have fled together; they have been captured without the bow; all who are found in you have been captured together; they have fled from afar.  Therefore I said, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly; do not insist on comforting me because of the devastation of the daughter of my people.  For it is a day of trouble, and of trampling down, and of perplexity by Jehovah of Hosts in the Valley of Vision; of breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.  And Elam carried the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.  And it shall come to pass that your choicest valleys shall be full of chariots; and the horsemen shall surely be set in array at the gate.  And he uncovered Judah‘s covering, and you looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest.  You have also seen the breaks in the city of David, that they are many; and you gathered the waters of the lower pool.  And you have counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you have broken down the houses to fortify the wall.  You also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool; but you have not looked to its Maker, nor had regard for Him who formed it...
