Unrepentant

Our national anthem declares that “In God is our trust“.  The lyrics of America the Beautiful declares that “God shed his grace on thee“.  If we were a newly founded country would either of these terms be allowed with all of the liberal anti God mentality that is out there.  I’m sure our country would have to come up with songs that would include everyone’s beliefs and the only people whom it could be offensive too would be true Believers, of whom probably very few would actually take offense.

“Remember the Word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My Word, they will keep yours also.”  John 15:20

America consistently is heading in a direction that is contrary to God.  This has been going on for quite some time, in fact out west, in places like Montana, there certainly was lawlessness back in the foundation and afterwards of this state, but those who were about to be hung for their crimes would still often confess that they were indeed guilty before their Creator.  Even though their sins had been found out, they were guilty, they had done evil, the point is they still knew that they would stand before their Creator, guilty.  Nowadays America is like a prostitute who does wrong, but in her own eyes she has not committed evil.

“This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, I have done no wickedness.”  Proverbs 30:20

Does America still put our trust in God or do we put our trust in ourselves, our military strength, our economic superpower status, our great wealth and sole fiat world reserve currency?  Twice in the past few days the lives of my family have been on the line, twice.  Once we were stopped on the highway outside of town to make a turn and a Suburban came barreling towards us at 60mph, oblivious to the point that we were stopped on the highway.  In a matter of a second, he approached, without braking and swerved with NO time to spare, scarcely avoiding our car by a hair, as he struggled to maintained control from having gone on the shoulder of the road.

A couple of days later we were out for a walk in the early nighttime, shortly after dark.  While in a business parking lot some people rolled through in a car.  A woman passenger hollered that she wanted to steal our child, the male driver hollered something supporting that notion, of which the female once again hollered that she was jealous.  Had they attempted to do so, our lives would have once again been on the line, as they would have had to kill us to take our child.  Yet our lives are in the hand of our Almighty Creator, in God we trust.

“Jehovah is my strength and my shield; my heart has trusted in Him, and I have been helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.  Jehovah is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed.”  Psalms 28:7-8

“Therefore I say to you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?  Observe the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  Which of you by being anxious is able to add one cubit to his stature?  So why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;  and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear?  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”  Matthew 6:25-34

All around the country, and indeed spreading around the globe, is lawlessness.  Sin in abundant and countless people refuse to repent, refuse to change their hearts and turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  They don’t want to hear it, they don’t want to know it.  They shut off their ears to the truth and instead relish in the deceptions of sin, unrepentant.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, desiring to hear pleasant things, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths.”  2nd Timothy 4:3-4

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  without natural affection, unyielding, slanderers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good,  traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away.”  2nd Timothy 3:1-5

Examples of how bad things are even in a small town in Montana would not be necessary to repeat.  In fact each American can read or watch the news of the constant barrage of evil that plagues our society in his or her own city.  Truly things are getting worse and they are getting worse shockingly quick.

In the last article the question was posed “What’s different this time?”.  Well now that our radio show expanded on that topic, with more information available about the current ongoing events surrounding North Korea, the question remains.  The answer could quite possibly be that our society is blind, unwilling to see.  We are so deep in our rebellion, as a society, against our Creator and our pride goes to the heavens.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”  Proverbs 16:18

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.”  1 Samuel 15:23a

Perhaps an America that is destroyed would cause those who dwell in our borders to finally snap out of it and repent, truly seeking the Lord.  Or perhaps they would be like those in Israel’s past who refuse to still repent, even after having been judged by God, likening their success to doing as they pleased and serving other gods, rather than the one true God.

“As for the Word that you have spoken to us in the name of Jehovah, we will not give heed to you.  But we will prepare and do whatever goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the Queen of Heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our rulers, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and were well-off, and saw no evil.  But since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything, and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.  And the women also said, when we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven, and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make our cakes in her image, and pour out drink offerings to her without our men?  Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men and to the women, and to all the people who had given him that answer, saying:  The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you, and your fathers, your kings, and your rulers, and the people of the land; did not Jehovah remember them, and did it not come into His mind?  Yes, so that Jehovah could no longer hold back because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations which you have done! Therefore your land is a waste, and a wonder, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is today.  Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah, nor walked in His Law, nor in His statutes, nor did you walk in His testimonies, therefore this evil has happened to you, as it is this day.”  Jeremiah 44:16-23

For those of you who can hear, for those of you who ponder, how long will you wait until you seek Salvation?  Will you be ready at the Trumpet to join us in the air to be with the Lord forever or will you be deceived because of your refusal to accept the Gospel, denying the Lord Jesus Christ?

“Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together at the same time with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”  1st Thessalonians 4:17

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,  that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”  2nd Thessalonians 2:9-12

Amen!
