“That Just Doesn’t Happen”

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with giddiness, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come upon you unexpectedly.  For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.”  Luke 21:34-35

When the Mendocino Complex fire was fully raging, a deputy chief with the California Department of Forestry and Fire commented, “Look how fast this Mendocino Complex went up in ranking. That doesn’t happen. That just doesn’t happen.”  Around the same time a Colorado thunderstorm unleashed ‘never before seen’ softball sized hail that caused a lot of damage.  While we know that no man knows the day, nor the hour, when the Rapture (Rev. 3:10) will happen and the Tribulation will start, we can clearly see the condition of mankind at this very moment.

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, but My Father only.”  Matthew 24:36

Despite the fact that bad things do happen, we do certainly have a lot of bad things happening all over the world.  Nothing compared to what will come:

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”  Luke 21:25-26

We’ve discussed such things in detail in recent prior articles.  The purpose of this article is not to reflect on some of the things that are happening in regards to things the Bible states will happen, but rather for one to reflect on their life in regards to the future according to the Bible.

For we know the following:

“And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away. And there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, out of the things which were written in the books.  And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one, according to their works.  And Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.  And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”  Revelation 20:11-15

A lot of people have an attitude regarding the need to repent and by faith believe into Jesus Christ in order to be Saved as the same as the title, they think that just doesn’t happen.  They refuse to believe that repentance is necessary, they refuse to believe what the Bible literally teaches, including Creation, the Flood, Jesus’s life, death and resurrection, etc.  The refuse to believe in Biblical separation, they refuse to believe there are apostate churches.  Instead they go along with the masses who preach that essentially all religions lead to Heaven.

What they try telling you with well-crafted words, is that it doesn’t matter if one believes in God or Allah, it doesn’t matter if one is a Baptist, Catholic or Hindu, it makes no difference, as long as one believes something.

“By covetousness they will exploit you with well-turned words; whose judgment of old is not idle, and their destruction does not slumber.”  2nd Peter 2:3

They tell you that just doesn’t happen, in regards to there only being one way to get to Heaven and that way through Jesus Christ.  They refuse what the Bible teaches, which is for all men to repent and believe the Gospel.

“Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  John 14:6

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men that is required for us to be saved.”  Acts 4:12

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:10

“Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”  Mark 1:14-15

“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has established a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has appointed. He has given assurance of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”  Acts 17:30-31

So most people go through life, pondering the afterlife from time to time.  They ponder it when they get very ill, they ponder it when they know someone who dies, they ponder it when a loved one’s life is in danger, they ponder it when they are nearly killed in an accident.  Likewise the tell-a-vision (television) portrays all sort of odd and strange doctrines, doctrines of demons and stuff that people literally just make up, because they feel this is how it works or it works that way.  Yet they all have the same underlining message when it comes to those who are not Saved, whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev. 21:27) and that message is that regarding eternal Hell, ‘that just doesn’t happen’.

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, prostitutes, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”  Revelation 21:8

“And all the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats.  And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.  Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;  I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.  Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?  When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?  Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?  And the King will answer and say to them, Truly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.  Then He will also say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire having been prepared for the devil and his angels:  for I was hungry and you did not give Me a thing to eat; I was thirsty and you did not give Me a thing to drink;  I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.  Then they also will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?  Then He will answer them, saying, Truly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.  And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”  Matthew 25:32-46

“And many of those sleeping in the earth’s dust shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting abhorrence.”  Daniel 12:2

Oddly enough, many people will take a look at some of the monsters out there, these same people who assume that they are not bad enough to go to Hell for eternity, that a loving God wouldn’t do that, yet the monsters of society they agree are in Hell.  These same people will make comments such as ‘hoping the heat is turned up’ or ‘they are burning in Hell’, yet they will not look to themselves as being just as lost, because in their minds, that just doesn’t happen.

Well the Bible teaches otherwise.  Let me ask you, why did God send His Son Jesus to die on the Cross for your sins, if there is no need for it?  Did He only send His Son to pay the penalty for the sins of the monsters or worse people?  Did He only send His Son to pay the penalty for those who commit major crimes and are locked away in the prisons of our societies?

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”  Galatians 3:13-14

“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:  Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself over to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.  For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”  1st Peter 2:21-25

“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of Jehovah been revealed?  For He grows up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of the dry ground. He has no form nor splendor that we should regard Him, nor anything spectacular that we should desire Him.  He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of pain, and knowing infirmity; a hiding of faces; being despised, we have esteemed Him not.  Truly He has borne our sicknesses, and carried our pain; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.  But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.  He has been oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opens not His mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before its shearers is mute, so He opens not His mouth.  He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgression of My people He was stricken.  And His grave was assigned with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; although He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.  Yet it pleased Jehovah to crush Him; to grieve Him; that He should give His soul as a sin-offering. He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the delight of Jehovah shall prosper in His hand.  He shall see the travail of His soul, and shall be fulfilled. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.  Therefore I will apportion to Him with the great, and He shall divide the spoils with the strong; because He has poured out His soul unto death; and He was reckoned among the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”  Isaiah 53

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  The one believing into Him is not judged; but the one not believing is judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.  For everyone practicing evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  But the one doing the truth comes to the Light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been worked in God.”  John 3:16-21

No rather Jesus died on the Cross and rose again from the dead, for ALL who will receive Him.  For all have sinned and the wages of sin is death.

“For the love of Christ holds us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again.”  2nd Corinthians 5:14-15

“But now the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through the faith of Jesus Christ, to all and upon all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to give evidence of His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to prove at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who is of the faith of Jesus.”  Romans 3:21-26

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23

There is not a single man or woman on this planet who does not need to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior…none.  Even though you might consider yourself to be a good person, one who helps out in the community, one who has raised a successful family, whatever you might consider yourself, understand that God looks at the heart.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?  I Jehovah search the heart, I examine the soul, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”  Jeremiah 17:9-10

The problem that people fail to recognize is to listen to our Creator.  Right here is a major root of the problem that we have as a society.  When we fail to believe what God has taught us through His Word, about Creating us, we allow a sinful error of either evolution or theistic evolution into our minds.  By allowing such an idea to take hold and be planted, it also allows for other portions of the Holy Scriptures to be manipulated.

“Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the heavens, and over the beasts, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that moves on the earth.  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the heavens, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.  And God said, Behold, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.  Also, to every living thing of the earth, to every flying creature of the heavens, and to everything that moves on the earth, living creatures, I have given the green plants for food: thus.  And God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was extremely good. Thus, the evening and the morning: Day Six.”  Genesis 1:26-31

“My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Your eyes saw my embryo, and in Your book I was enrolled, and all my days had been preordained, when as yet there was nothing.”  Psalms 139:15-16

“Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I consecrated you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”  Jeremiah 1:5

“Thus says Jehovah who made you, and formed you from the womb, who will help you; Fear not, O Jacob My servant, and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.”  Isaiah 44:2

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  Genesis 1:1

“Thus says Jehovah the Mighty God, He who created the heavens and stretched them out, spreading out the earth and its offspring; Who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk on it.”  Isaiah 42:5

For instance, if the Bible isn’t true about God Creating the world in six days, about Noah being on a boat during a worldwide Flood (Gen. 6) (despite all the geological evidence that is purposely manipulated), then just how easy is it to say that Hell doesn’t exist.  And when Hell doesn’t exist or if someone who goes there doesn’t go there for eternity, but either is released (false doctrine of Purgatory sense) or simply ceases to exist (modern false theology), then the consequences for our sins are watered down.

After all with a mindset like that, the worse that could happen to you is you would just cease to exist.  The huge problem with that is it DOES HAPPEN.  Anyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity (Rev. 20:11-15).

Now we also know that only through Jesus can someone be Saved.  So right off the bat we have a huge problem.  Despite what others refuse to say, let it be said irregardless of what people think.  Right there, every Islamic, Hindu, spiritualist, atheist, Jew (in the sense of those practicing Judaism, not by race), Buddhist, tribal religions, traditional Chinese religions and made up garbage (as the rest also is), we know that according to the Bible, they are not in the way of Truth, they need Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The same could be said by the numerous false religions out there, the mega churches that spew apostolistic doctrine, the Roman Catholic Church (let’s not forget the other types of Catholic churches), right down to the local non denominational church that fails to preach what the Bible says.  So we have a big problem in our societies, a big problem with what God clearly states in His Word and what men ‘think’ and do.

“Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.  For I know this, that after my departure vicious wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.  Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.”  Acts 20:28-31

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many entering in through it.  Because narrow is the gate and distressing is the way which leads unto life, and there are few who find it.  Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.  You will know them from their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?  Even so, every good tree produces excellent fruit, but a corrupt tree produces evil fruit.  A good tree is not able to produce evil fruit, nor is a corrupt tree able to produce excellent fruit.  Every tree that does not produce excellent fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  Therefore from their fruits you will know them.”  Matthew 7:13-20

“Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.”  Revelation 17:9

“There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death.”  Proverbs 14:12

Take a good look at what you believe, does it line up with the Bible?  Do you have a good copy of the Bible, a King James Version?  Take heed to what the early Church did:

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things are so.”  Acts 17:11

Understand that what the Bible teaches does happen.  If you die in your sins, without Christ as your Savior, you will release too late.  Do not be one who sticks with ‘that just doesn’t happen’, but realize and understand that there simply was a reason that God sent His Son Jesus to die on the Cross for your sins.  If Jesus didn’t need to pay the penalty for our sins, then why did He die on the Cross and rise from the dead?

“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in the things pertaining to God, in order to make propitiation for the sins of the people.  For in that He Himself has suffered, being tested, He is able to help those who are tested.”  Hebrews 2:17-18

Amen!
