Avoiding Judgment?

Can a nation avoid the Judgment of the Almighty God?  Can any country on the face of the earth, dare to call itself a Christian country, yet behave in a blasphemous way forever?

“Am I a God near by, says Jehovah, and not a God afar off?  Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says Jehovah. Do I not fill the heavens and earth? says Jehovah.”  Jeremiah 23:23-24

“And there is no creature that is not revealed in His presence, but all things are naked and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must give answer.”  Hebrews 4:13

“These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.”  Matthew 15:8

“Therefore Jehovah said, Whereas this people draw near with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men; therefore, behold, I will again do among this people something extraordinary and wonderful.  For the wisdom of their wise ones shall perish, and the understanding of their intelligent ones shall be hidden.  Woe to those who are profound to hide their counsel from Jehovah!  And their works are in the dark, and they say, Who sees us? And, Who knows us?  O your perversity!  Shall the former be esteemed as the potter’s clay; for shall the product say of him who made it, He did not make me?  Or shall the thing formed say to him who formed it, He has had no understanding?”  Isaiah 29:13-16

Much of the Old Testament is of such a history.  Israel, God’s chosen people, would abide by His Laws and statues, give heed to their Creator, yet after time they would stray from those absolutes and become engulfed in paganism.  Over and over again Israel strayed from the Truth and over and over again God punished them for their iniquity.

“Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.”  1st Corinthians 10:11

“For whatever things were written before were written for our instruction, that we through the patience and encouragement of the Scriptures might have hope.”  Romans 15:4

God punishes for their iniquity

What about America? Is America trying to avoid God’s Judgment?

“The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland.”  1 Kings 10:27

“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of Jehovah your God which I am commanding you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.”  Deuteronomy 11:26-28

In 1950 America loaned more money to countries of the world than any other country.  The United States now borrows more money than any other country in the world.  Trying to pay off the National Debt isn’t even a topic worth discussing anymore.  Americans know that it is impossible to do so.

A large percent of households are buried in debt to keep up with the lifestyle that they can not afford.  As the economic prosperity of America has sharply declined, the rise in consumer credit has afforded people to continue on ignoring the facts.

There are many other factors that one could weigh, such as the amount of flooding and other weather disaster events in recent years, the extreme drought in the western half of the United States, as well as the removal of freedoms from the American people.  The question is whether or not the United States as a nation and the people as a whole are trying to avoid the Judgment of God Almighty.

When a disaster strikes in the land, does repentance come to mind in the city or county where it happens?  Do those who reside in a now desolate community cry out to Almighty God, admitting their sin, seeking to turn from it and establish righteousness or do they cry out to the government for federal emergency disaster aid?

The Bible tells us the future.  We know that the entire world will be Judged by God during the time often call the Great Tribulation, the “time of Jacob’s trouble”  (Jeremiah 30:7).

Nations are going to continue on their way to destruction, carrying most of their inhabitants down that same road.  As and INDIVIDUAL you will stand before God and give an account.  If your name is not written in the Book of Life, if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you will be doomed to eternity in the Lake of Fire.

“And all who dwell on the earth will do homage to him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”  Revelation 13:8

“Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  John 14:6

“Therefore remember that you, being Gentiles in the flesh; who are called uncircumcision by what is called the circumcision made in the flesh by hands; that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been made near by the blood of Christ.”  Ephesians 2:11-13

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”  Revelation 20:15

Know this well that while the United States or any other nation may try to avert Judgment, all they are doing is putting bandages on wounds that require further medical treatment.  There is no avoiding the Judgment of God, rather people often try to simply ignore it.  Why didn’t Israel repent to God as they saw an army marching towards them?  When their cities were being cut off, why didn’t they cry out in repentance?  Only at the last minute would they then seek God Almighty, when it was too late and their cry was not heard.

“There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the arrogance of evil men.  Surely, the Mighty God will not listen to vanity, nor will the Almighty regard it.”  Job 35:12-13

“When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them.  But I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.”  Jeremiah 14:12

When the Flood rain waters began and Noah with his family was in the Ark, did the people around them cry out to God for salvation from the Flood?  Only, once God’s mercy has run out, once His purpose is fulfilled and His Judgment set, will He not fulfill what He has purposed to do?

“And Jehovah said to me, You have seen well; for I will keep watch over My Word to perform it.”  Jeremiah 1:12

“The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is longsuffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with intense burning; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.  Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, of what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness, looking for and earnestly hastening unto the coming of the Day of God, through which the heavens will be dissolved, being set on fire, and the elements will melt with intense burning?”  2nd Peter 3:9-12

“For truly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled.”  Matthew 5:18

“For I, Jehovah, change not.”  Malachi 3:6a

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8

You as an individual have to make a choice, you have to decide whether or not you will follow Jesus, accepting the free gift of Salvation from God or whether or not you will refuse to repent of your sin, refuse to realize the horribleness of your iniquity and that you are deserving of going to Hell for eternity.  Until you come to the realization, until you come to godly repentance and believe into Jesus for your Salvation, you are lost.

“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”  2nd Corinthians 7:10

…” who desires all men to be saved and to come to a full true knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle; I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying; a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.”  1st Timothy 2:4-7

When the moment comes that you will stand before God, you will be held accountable and at that point there will be no pardon, no appeal, no hope, but only despair as you realize that your opportunity is long gone, your life on earth is past and your future in Hell awaits.

“So then each of us shall give account concerning himself to God.”  Romans 14:12

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God.  And books were opened.  And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.  And the dead were judged according to their works, out of the things which were written in the books.”  Revelation 20:12

Will you not consider His kindness, His gift, His Son that He sent to die for your sins and realize the greatness of such a miraculous gift that rectifies lost man with God, through Jesus Christ?  Eventually it will be too late and you will have no one to blame but yourself.

Amen!
