Do Not Resurrect

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”  1st Peter 1:3-5

Not too long ago there was a story of a man who was taken to the emergency room, unconscious.  On his chest there was a tattoo that said ‘Do Not Resurrect’.  The emergency room doctors were at lose with what to do.  They quickly talked to the hospital’s attorneys and decided that they would respect the patients wishes.  Here they had figured out what was wrong with the man, he was savable, they could bring back his normal life, but laws on the books allow for such decisions to be made by individuals.

Afterwards, the emergency room doctors found out that official paperwork had been filed with the state, indeed the man did not want to be resurrected, should he ever be found in that state.  This article is not going to focus much on the debate as to where one draws the line in regards to seeking life saving medical attention.  Indeed it is God who has given each of our lives and Created our soul, let each individual be assured in his own mind about such things.  Rather we must look at the consequences of not resurrecting the Truth of God’s Word in our hearts and finally look at Jesus Christ who was Resurrected, that we might obtain Salvation, that we might be Saved, that the penalty for our sins might be paid.

“For You have possessed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will give thanks unto You, for I am awesomely and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.”  Psalms 139:13-15

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”  Genesis 1:27

“And so we also have a more sure Word of prophecy, which you do well to heed as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that not any of the prophecies of Scripture came into being from personal exposition, for prophecy was not formerly brought forth by man’s choice, but holy men of God spoke as they were propelled along by the Holy Spirit.”  2nd Peter 1:19-21

“For the love of Christ holds us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again.  Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  2nd Corinthians 5:14-17

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23

Whether one is resurrected or not from a horrible injury or medical illness by medical personal or even someone who performs CPR on them is not the question.  While we applaud heroes who save those who have drowned, while we applaud those doctors who perform with such skill that they seemingly do the impossible, we must remember that without an individual’s name being written in the Book of Life, they are on life support.

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”  Revelation 20:15

Rather as Believers, those who have truly repented and by faith believed into Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we should look to our Hero, Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty for our sins, who is the only One through whom we obtain Salvation.  We should diligently support those who are called by God to proclaim the Gospel, knowing that God is using these men on His behalf in order to perform the impossible.

“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has established a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has appointed. He has given assurance of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”  Acts 17:30-31

“But what does it say? The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the Word of Faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture says, Everyone believing on Him will not be put to shame.  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich toward all who call upon Him.  For everyone, whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Romans 10:8-13

“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself over to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.  For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”  1st Peter 2:21-25

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men that is required for us to be saved.”  Acts 4:12

We ought to realize that as Christians, it is us too, even if God has not called an individual to a specific work, whom are witnesses and should give testimony to those who will listen about the Gospel.

“Go therefore and instruct all the nations, immersing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”  Matthew 28:19-20

For of what value is it if a man is resurrected in an emergency room or on a beach somewhere, only to live out the remainder of their days, dying in their sin?  Who then will Save them?  What hope would be left?  None.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  Hebrews 10:31

“If He takes away, who can repulse Him? Who can say to Him, What are You doing?”  Job 9:12

“But He is One, and who can turn Him back? And whatever His soul desires, that He does.”  Job 23:13

Yet the rocks cry out unto God.  If we could resurrect the clear reality of what happened here on the earth during the flood, then man certainly could look clearly at what God’s Word teaches about sin and about Salvation, also about our Creator.  We could see the evidence that so strongly presents itself.  Yet all those who interpret these things, lie, they deceive the people, they deceive themselves.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is clearly recognized by them, for God has revealed it to them.  For ever since the creation of the world the unseen things of Him are clearly perceived, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they know God, they do not glorify Him as God, nor are thankful, but become vain in their reasonings, and their stupid hearts are darkened.  Professing to be wise, they become foolish, and change the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.  Therefore God also gives them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who change the truth of God into the lie, and fear and serve the created things more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.  For this reason God gives them up to vile passions. For even their women change the natural use for what is contrary to nature.  Likewise also the men, abandoning the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men performing what is shameful, and receiving the retribution within themselves, the penalty which is fitting for their error.  And even as they do not like to have God in their full true knowledge, God gives them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with every unrighteousness, sexual perversion, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, depravity; whisperers,  defamers, haters of God, insolent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do them, but also approve of those who practice them.”  Romans 1:18-32

I’ve done my share of research on fossils, the geologic evidence of the flood and numerous other related topics, using the Bible as the firm foundation, upon which I faithfully stand (Matt. 7:24-25).  I’ve heard the stories of fossils found that contradict the official story, stowed away in some warehouse.  Other times when such fossils offer undeniable evidence, someone comes up with a great theory as to how this fits into (with a small amount of change) the official lie of evolution.  I had read and read and decided that I wanted to see it for myself.

One day, in an undisclosed location in South Dakota, I had my chance and took the opportunity.  In an area so rural that hardly a road ran through it, I found myself unhinged from the fences in open lands.  Parking the car in an area that seemed to present the right atmosphere for seeing what I suspected to be true, I entered a harsh arid landscape, with the cool winds blowing fiercely.

There as I walked past a couple of small badland type hills, I saw what men would have seen years ago when dinosaur bones were first collected.  With my own eyes I saw the penalty for the sin of a world that was destroyed, with the exception of eight souls, that being Noah and his family (1st Pet. 3:20).  I saw the tree stump, looking as they had been cut down, petrified.  I saw the bones scattered about on the ground from the dinosaurs that roamed about.  The point here is not to debate what the finding are, to me it is clear for I know Whom I have believed in.

“For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep safe what I have committed to Him until that Day.”  2nd Timothy 1:12

If man were honest with the geological and fossil record, they would align it as it should be, with what God’s Word says.  If they resurrected the fossil record accordingly, then man would know and fear their Creator, but they do not resurrect these things as such, rather they lie and lie some more.

Even here in Flathead Valley, Montana, there is a river in our county that to most would look like what they would expect in the mountainous region of this state, but to those who are in the know, they would realize that the oil shale provided, hidden to the natural eye, a marvelous example of insects trapped, both with the hairs attached in intricate detail and the remains of blood still intact.  The possibility of such things being able to have survived long enough to have been entrapped in shale, without have decomposed greatly and the possibility of still having such details as blood proteins over the course of millions of years is so absolutely nonexistent, yet in the minds of the scientist who study such things, they purport their lies (Rom. 3:4), denying God and they do not resurrect these things accordingly, but as their father does, they speak lies regarding the apparent Truth to the record presented before them.

“You are of the devil as your father, and the lusts of your father you purpose to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.”  John 8:44

“So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads the whole world astray; he was cast out onto the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”  Revelation 12:9

Irregardless of what men’s desire are regarding being resurrected by the medical industry, the reality is quite plan and simple: one day each man will die, whether they seek intervention to try and extend their life or not, one day each man will stand before their Creator at the Great White Throne Judgment and there they will be resurrected.  Either they will enter into the Pearly Gates (Rev. 21:21) to be with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or else they will be cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Luke 13:28).

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, without sin, unto salvation.”  Hebrews 9:27-28

“And the devil, who led them astray, was cast into the Lake of Fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.  And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away. And there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, out of the things which were written in the books.  And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one, according to their works.  And Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.  And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”  Revelation 20:10-15

Whether or not you want to be resurrected during this life matters little.  For God will have no respect to your Do Not Resurrect tattoos or legal documents, for God will resurrect all who are dead, both in the sea and in the graves and some will awaken to everlasting life and some to everlasting hellfire.  Be assured that this is certain and by no means will you escape it!

“And many of those sleeping in the earth’s dust shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting abhorrence.”  Daniel 12:2

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.  For truly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled.”  Matthew 5:17-18

Amen!
