Deaf Ears

“Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.”  Ezekiel 12:2

I’m not one to take much account of dreams.  There are those who proclaim I have dreamed this or dreamed that (Jer. 23:25) and I have seen articles written online about such-n-such a prophet dreams that this is going to happen or that is going to happen.  What I fail to see is the follow-up articles, by the same writers who promote such things, when these things fail to happen (Duet. 18:22).  Their dreams were not of God.

Last night I had a dream, not a prophetic dream, but a dream where I awoke having understanding about the times in which we live.  Now understand my background, for a living I clean commercial buildings and have done so off and on for nearly 25 years.  While it might not be a dream job, this has been the career where God consistently opens the doors, so that I might be able to work in ‘peace’ and provide an honest living.

In this dream there was another man who was a janitor for a building that I did not clean.  I happened to be walking outside this building and he had a flood of milky water outside the entrance, going down a half step of cement stairs to another sublevel basement entrance.  He was trying to mop it up and asked for some help.

I grabbed the mop bucket on the top of the half set of stairs, by the main entrance, and dumped out the water, while the janitor of the building continued to work on the bottom of the stairs outside the sublevel entrance.  I began to wring out my mop and proceeded to slop up the water, doing so I realized that my puddle of water was constantly refilling.

Looking for a source I saw that there was a wall nearby the sidewalk where water was protruding from, continuously filling the puddle on the sidewalk and causing a small flow going down the stairs to where the other man was still working silently.  Being a Friday, late afternoon and nearly closing time for what was an attorney’s office, I went into the business to try and help.

Inside, from behind the counter, a receptionist comes out and I am telling her that water is leaking from the building, a major leak.  She looks at me, but doesn’t really respond.  Another woman from the back comes out and listens in on our conversation.  With both women standing there I tell them that the water can be shutoff and it appears to be coming from a locked office right next to us.

The woman from the back simply explains ‘you can do that?’, in regards to turning off the water, but neither of the women unlock the office to allow me to turn off the water from it’s source.  They don’t seem pleased that I am trying to stop the major leak, nor do they seem to care.

I leave the building and am outside thinking, I did my duty, I tried to warn them, when suddenly I feel like I should go back in and start hollering.  I had heard a man, an attorney, talking on the phone in the building, knowing they would likely call the police for me making a scene.

How many times does God warn?

The fact that they ignored me, made it seem like it was intentional, they wanted the damage to come.  As I was waking up from this dream, I started to consider how Satan puts ministers in the church, something that people don’t realize.

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.  And no wonder; for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”  2nd Corinthians 11:13-15

I began to think of how there are wolves among the sheep and the sheep don’t take notice.

“Therefore I testify to you this day that I am blameless from the blood of everyone.  For I have not shrunk back from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.  Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.  For I know this, that after my departure vicious wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.  Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.”  Acts 20:26-31

People ignore what is going on, they simply don’t care.  I think of the pastors that I have spoken to, regarding several topics, music, repentance, Bible versions, Creation, the Flood, the end-times, the Rapture, yet in all instances, there was no movement on their part.

These pastors continued to allow rock music, even promoting Hell’s Bells by ACDC as speaking God’s truth (Baptist preacher), refused to preach biblical repentance or in most cases speak of repenting at all (Baptist, Missionary churches), using the NIV, despite easily able to prove it is a bad version of the Bible, simply no response at all (Missionary church), allowing for choosing either a literal 6 day Creation or theistic evolution (Baptist church), believed in two floods (independent Baptist church), refused to talk about end-times events or engage in conversation (multiple independent Baptist churches), believes and preaches post-tribulation Rapture by taking the Olivet discourse out of context and not understanding the Holy Scriptures (independent Baptist church) – all of these preachers were friendly enough to have a conversation, but it was either an ‘agree to disagree’ and come and ‘check out our church’ or sometimes just silence.

In one instance I had a preacher who agreed that repentance was taught in the Bible but WOULD NOT CHANGE his preaching and still preached easy-believerism.  I attended a Bible study at his home with a couple of other people.  When I first arrived there was a man outside, whom, if I would guess, looked demon-possessed.  When I went into the study, this man joined us.  The pastor declared that he had just ‘prayed a prayer’ and was now saved!  No repentance whatsoever.

Doesn’t the Bible say to be watching and ready?

“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord comes.  But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief comes, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be dug through.  Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man comes at an hour you do not expect.”  Matthew 24:42-44

“Let your loins be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.  Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Truly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.  And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.  But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be dug through.  Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”  Luke 12:35-40

Either I am crazy for telling people to repent and believe into Jesus Christ as their Savior (Acts 20:21) and warning people to be watching and ready or else there is a very serious situation of ignorance going on out there.  I tend to believe the later.

Whether the Rapture is 200 years from now or tomorrow, biblically speaking Believers are told to be watching and ready.  This was true nearly 2000 years ago and it is true today.

“For I, Jehovah, change not.”  Malachi 3:6a

Can one not look at this world and clearly see Bible prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes?!  Do Believers not warn the unsaved to repent from their evil deeds (Acts 17:30-31; Luke 13:3) and turn to God (Ezk. 33:11), accepting the free gift of Salvation (Eph. 2:8-9), through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)?

This is serious business and I was thinking about this last night, on the way to work.  While no one seems to care, while preaching about these things seem to fall on deaf ears, nonetheless, I know that eventually there will be dead bodies everywhere, as dung upon the face of the earth!

“And in that day the slain of Jehovah shall be from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be mourned, nor gathered, nor buried. They shall be as dung on the ground.”  Jeremiah 25:33

The world makes it seem like I am wrong, the shepherds of the people ignore everything, there is hardly any truth left, yet the Bible does say that such a time is coming.  As Ezekiel was told to warn, so too, I will warn and whether or not people listen, that is their choice, the blood will not be on my hands.

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear the Word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: When I say to the wicked, You shall die the death, and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.  Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.  Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.  Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall live life because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul.”  Ezekiel 3:17-21

Just how far does that warning go?  If you warn and there is still no listening, do you then start hollering for the boss to be told?

In my thoughts, I think of Jeremiah and how long God would allow the warning to keep going on, where Jeremiah would still be told to continue to warn, even after having already warned the people.

“Thus says Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah’s house and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to bow down in Jehovah’s house, all the Words that I command you to speak to them; do not diminish a word.  It may be that they will listen, and each man turn from his evil way, that I may be moved to compassion from the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.”  Jeremiah 26:2-3

Amen!
